As a mom with a full time job and lots of "better" things to do I can never get to a salon for a manicure or pedicure. I love this parafin bath because the temperature is just right, it heats up quickly, the wax smells heavenly, and the mitts that they include really seem to be the added touch that makes this "spa at home" like the real thing.
I LOVE mine. |  | Feels soothing, but paraffin is no miracle | | First of all, paraffin, although very soothing and warm, has only temporary results. I have dry hands and feet, and after using the Revlon unit (or any other unit, for that matter), my hands and feet returned back to their normal state the next day. Not only that, but I work in the beauty industry and can definitely tell you that paraffin dips feel nice, but that's it. Paraffin does not remove dead skin any more than a piece of tape. And it does not moisturize any more than taking a hot shower and then smearing your feet in an occlusive cream like Vaseline or Body Butter. If i felt this unit was truly healing or necessary, i would have bought one of my own. Thank goodness my friend bought it first so I could try it out. In addition, another gripe is that my size 8 feet didn't fit comfortably in the unit, and continuously buying blocks of wax and hauling them back to your home is no spa-licious treat. I'd rather save the money, get pampered in a corner nail salon for a few bucks. Why? I'm not the one doing all the work! why self pre-manicure, self-exfoliate, self dip, self-massage and self-fumble around while trying not to spill wax/touch the floor/look for an extra hand to lotion and put on the mitts?? Relaxation and pampering are all about NOT exerting any effort, so that's why buying such a unit will just sit in the cupboard collecting dust after the initial excitement dies down. It heats up quickly (just under two hours.)The mitts and the booties that come with really make you feel you are being pampered. I will say though that even though it says fits shoe size up to 9.5 it doesn't (at least not comfortably).
